The Events Calendar is a calendar of events showing what's on in Brisbane. The Calendar allows you to browse and search upcoming events as well as list your own events.

You'll find the Events Calendar by selecting the 'What's On' link from any page of ourbrisbane.com and then selecting Events Calendar.

How to search the Calendar

  1. Select the 'What's On' link from any page of ourbrisbane.com.
  2. Select 'Events Calendar'.
  3. You can search the Events Calendar by date, keyword, type, venue or suburb or by a combination of these.

Searching by date

To search by a pre-selected date range simply choose from the ‘Timeframe’ field, and select the 'Search' button. Pre-selected dates include today, tomorrow, this weekend and others.

To search by a particular date, simply fill in the ‘From:’ field using the drop down menu or click on the calendar icon next to the ‘From:’ field and select the date.

If you want to search for events during a specific time period, fill in the 'From:' field and the 'To:' field using either of the methods above.

Once you've entered your dates, select the 'Search' button.

Searching by keyword

Searching by keyword is useful if you don't know a lot about a particular event, or if what you are looking for is not already included in the drop-down menus of the 'Type:' or 'Venue:' fields.

When you type a keyword into the 'Keyword:' field and select the 'search' button, the calendar will search for the keyword in the name, description and venue of all events listed.

Tip: When searching by keyword, use the simplest version of the word, for example, type in 'north' rather than 'northern'.

Please note that the Events Calendar does not support searching for phrases ie the search will return all events containing any of the keywords that have been entered.

Searching by type of event

To search for a particular type of event, use the drop-down menu in the 'Type:' field.

You can choose from the list that includes Arts and Theatre, Exhibitions, Festivals and Events, Kids Events and other categories.

Once you've selected your information, select the 'Search' button.

Tip: If you are looking for any type of event, select 'All event types' at the top of the drop-down menu.

Searching by venue

To find out what's on at a particular venue, you can search using the 'Venue:' field. You can choose from the list that includes the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, City Hall, Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, QPAC - Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Roma Street Parklands and others.

Once you've chosen the venue, select the 'Search' button.

Note: The drop-down menu for the 'Venue:' field only includes Brisbane's major venues. Use another search method to find events held at venues not listed in the drop-down box.
